Across the pond, part 8
Well it’s official…..I’m sick. I woke up with a sore throat and have been coughing alot. We all get ready and head out to top up our oyster cards for public transportation. (Thank you Rachel). We wait a couple minutes for the train to take us to Waterloo.
The trains here are so much nicer than the LIRR trains back home. The seats are actually comfortable, lined with cloth an not hard plastic. It’s cleaner than any train I’ve ever seen, really.
Jeff and Sara head to the museum while the rest of us head to Westminster to see Big Ben. We walk a little ways down Birdcage and arrive at Buckingham Palace. I wish I knew what all the hype was about cause there news camera’s and police everyone. Whatever was going on, there was no changing of the guards. =^(
We walk around town for a bit trying to find London Bridge and when we finally figured out where we were going, we walked in the wrong direction.
We took the tube to The London Bridge stop where we ran into Jeff and Sara. Jeff mentioned trying to check out Piccadilly before we leave, which is kinda like the Times Square of NY. (He was right). While there, I got a delicious chicken shawarma. We headed back to Waterloo to start our journey to Bristol.
We get to the show just as doors open and we head to the green room, which funny enough was actually green. I chill on the internets for a bit before we start to play. The 2 other bands on the bill were great and lent us most equipment. I broke the snare head from Slagerij kit which I felt bad about, but my friend, Adam, would’ve been happy that the replacement snare I got was a black panther. =^)
After the show, the members of Slagerij showed me this ale called Spitfire which was awesome. Me not really being an ale drinker, I enjoyed this. We pack up the car quick after to head to the promoter, Tom’s, house for food and sleep. Lord know I can use it!
